Jeff is the President & Chief Executive Officer of WEOKIE Federal Credit Union located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. WEOKIE was chartered in 1969 to serve Western Electric of Oklahoma (WEOKIE) and today serves the eight counties of Metro Oklahoma City. WEOKIE has 229 employees, 63,469 member-owners, 13 locations, $952M loans and $1.4B in assets.

Having celebrated 35 years in credit unions in March of this year, Jeff has served in numerous roles in the credit union movement including; founding Chair of the First Miami University Student & Alumni FCU and executive positions at the Ohio and Oklahoma Credit Union Leagues, US Central Credit Union, Credit Union National Association (CUNA), American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL) and Wright-Patt Credit Union. Jeff was most recently the CEO of CME Federal Credit Union in Columbus, Ohio, a position he held from January 2016 through November 2020. He is a graduate of the Credit Union Development Education Program (1990) and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking (1994).

Throughout his career, Jeff has focused on organizational strategy and planning at his organization or assisting other organizations in developing their strategy throughout the United States and internationally with the World Council of Credit Unions. He assumed his current role in November 2020. Jeff is a board member of First Rate Title, First Rate Auto, Credit Union Service Center of Oklahoma, Credit Union House of Oklahoma and DoubleCheck CUSO.

Jeff is proud father of two incredible athletes, students, and individuals. When he isn’t thinking about credit unions, he can be found cheering for his kids alongside his wife of 25 years, Kim.

Shari spent 16 years as an executive at a Seattle credit union, where she oversaw marketing and IT.

Her proudest accomplishments at Verity Credit Union included being named an Innovator of the Decade by Net. Banker, heading up the successful Verity Mom campaign, and participating in Filene’s prestigious i3 program.

Her first book, Motherhood is the New MBA: Using Your Parenting Skills to be a Better Boss was published by St. Martin’s Press. With almost 20,000 copies sold, it has been translated into Mandarin and purchased for publications in four countries. The book has received tremendous press, including Time and Redbook magazines, Martha Stewart’s radio, BusinessWeek online, the Costco Connection and the cover of the Metro News New York, to name a few.

Shari has been named a Woman of Influence by CU Times. She has been featured in American Banker, Credit Union Management, and The CEO Report.

Shari received her undergraduate degree from University of Washington and her MBA from Seattle University.

Jim Nussle was named president and CEO of the Credit Union National Association in September 2014. Nussle, is a former eight-term congressman and director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

CUNA is the largest and most influential national financial services trade association advocating for America’s credit unions. There are nearly 5,500 credit unions nationwide, with 130 million members and almost $1.5 trillion in assets.

Nussle has long admired the grass roots advocacy strength of the credit union movement. In Congress, he witnessed firsthand the enthusiastic advocacy of America’s credit unions.

Nussle served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991-2007 as a Republican representative from the State of Iowa. From 2001-2006, he served as chairman of the House Budget Committee, a key panel that oversees the federal budget process, including review of all bills and resolutions on the budget. In addition he was a member of the House leadership and served on the Banking and Ways and Means Committees.

In 2007, President Bush tapped him as the 36th director of OMB, the largest office within the Executive Office of the President of the United States. As OMB director, he was a member of the president’s cabinet.

Nussle also served on the founding board of Growth Energy, a trade association of renewable energy companies and industry partners. He was recruited by his fellow board members in 2010 to help lead the organization as its President and COO. During his tenure, Growth Energy nearly doubled its revenue, increased membership by 18% to become the largest renewable energy association, and successfully navigated several regulatory and legislative challenges.

In his early career, Nussle served his community for four years as a first responder and firefighter with the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department. He also spent four years as the Delaware County Attorney, the chief prosecutor and civil attorney for the jurisdiction and established his own law practice. Nussle also serves as a director on the boards of Thrivent Mutual Funds, PRA Group Inc., and as a special advisor on the advisory board of AVISTA Capital Partners.

In addition, he volunteers his time with The National Down Syndrome Society and as President of Epiphany Lutheran Church Congregational Council, where you can often find him “sitting in” playing guitar in the praise band for Sunday services.

A native Iowan, Nussle received a degree in political science from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and his law degree from Drake University in Des Moines. Nussle and his wife, Karen live in Wisconsin, and have two adult children.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION

  • Participant registration is $375 per person and includes conference program and food & beverage functions specified in the agenda.
  • Guest registration is $225 per person and includes Wednesday reception & dinner and Thursday buffet breakfast.

The Mississippi Credit Union Association (MSCUA) will invoice your credit union for conference registrations prior to the event. If any participant or guest has special physical or dietary needs, please notify MSCUA using the conference registration form.

Conference Cancellations
Cancellations with written notice received on or before Monday, October 23, will receive a full refund. Cancellations after Monday, October 23, and no-shows will not be entitled to any refunds and will be billed. Substitutions are always welcome!

GOLF

Optional Golf Add-On
Estimate of $225 per golfer green fee.  Actual fee may vary.  Golf fees will be billed to the golfer’s hotel room at the Grand Hotel by Lakewood Golf Course once onsite (MSCUA/LCUL will not invoice).  Register for golf using the conference registration form.

HOTEL

Individuals are responsible for making their own hotel room reservation. The deadline to make your hotel room reservation is TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2023. Room rate & availability cannot be guaranteed after that date.

The Louisiana group rate is $269 per night, bayside view room.  Based on availability, you may request a Spa Building marina view room for $299.

Room type requests are based on availability and cannot be guaranteed.  The 15% resort fee has been waived for our group. Rates are exclusive of applicable taxes.

Guarantee: All room reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card.

Cancellation: Cancellations must be made 72-hours prior to arrival or first night’s room rate (plus applicable taxes) will be charged.

Check-in is 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m.

Tax exemption: A federal credit union’s NCUA Letter of Exemption should be presented to the hotel at check-in. Your hotel charges must be paid by credit union check or credit union credit card to qualify for tax exemption. Payments made by individual check or credit card do not qualify for tax exemption.

Early Departure: One night’s room rate (plus applicable taxes) will be charged to individuals that depart before their confirmed departure date, after checking-in. To avoid the early departure fee, inform the hotel prior to arrival or at check-in of any changes to your scheduled length of stay.

No Shows: One night’s room rate (plus applicable taxes) will be charged to individuals that do not check-in on their scheduled arrival date and any remaining room nights will be dropped.

Extending your stay: Participants may extend their hotel stay at our group room rates (plus applicable taxes & fees). This offer is limited to 3-days pre- and post-event dates and is subject to the hotel’s availability.

Parking: Valet parking is available for $32 per day. Complimentary self-parking is available across the street from the resort entrance and in limited quantity inside the resort along the road between North Bay House and the Spa Building.
