Foster Inducted into Triangle FCU’s Hall of Fame

At its 64th Annual Meeting and Convention, Triangle FCU was pleased to induct Ron Foster into the Triangle Credit Union Hall of Fame.

Ron began his credit union volunteer service in 1982 while stationed at Columbus Air Force Base, where he was the Command Chief, responsible for all enlisted personnel. In 1985, after 30 years of military service, he retired from the Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant. Ron continued his career at CAFB working in Civil Service for 15 years, culminating a 45-year career, with the U.S. Government.

Ron served as a voting delegate for the Defense Credit Union Council, as well as the National Association of Federal Credit Unions, and the Mississippi Credit Union Association.

Ron was elected to Triangle’s board of directors in 1982. He is a Past Chairman of the credit union, and is currently Chairman of the Asset Liability Committee. Ron has proven to be a dedicated leader and has set the highest standards for not only volunteers but also the credit union’s 39 member staff.

During Ron’s tenure, CU assets have grown from $10 million to more than $100 million, while membership has increased from 4,800 to more than 12,000. Ron was also instrumental in the construction of four additional full-service branch offices in 1995, 2008, 2011, and 2023; two in Columbus, one in Starkville and the newest location in West Point.

Another major contribution during this time includes expanding the credit union’s field of membership to encompass a three-county area including Lowndes, Clay, and Oktibbeha. Anyone that lives, works, worships, or attends school, in these counties are eligible for membership in Triangle FCU.

Ron has constantly embraced the latest technology that allows us to provide state of the art services across all delivery channels. He is the epitome of the well-known motto, Service before Self.

For the past 42 years, Ron has always been there for Triangle FCU’s staff, volunteers and members, attending nearly every board meeting, training seminar, and planning session.

In 2019, Ron was inducted in to the Mississippi Credit Union Association Hall of Fame.

Mutual Awards Scholarships

The Mutual Credit Union Charitable Foundation recently awarded scholarships to local students to help them attend college. The credit union was also excited to surprise the scholarship recipients with MacBooks to aid in their educational journey, too.
